6 Months Out: Your Pre-Wedding Skin Care Guide
By now, you should feel confident with your skin’s progress and should have an at home skincare system that you’ve adopted as your daily and nightly routine. This is the time to have another consultation to discuss where your skin has improved and where you’d like to refocus your attention. Be honest about your expectations so that your Esthetician can better understand your concerns. If you’re considering neurotoxins such as Botox or any other facial fillers or aesthetic enhancements before your wedding, now would be the time to bring it up! Ask questions, we are here for you! Your pre-wedding jitters will start fading away!
3 months before you say ‘I DO’:
~ Facial Treatments: Be sure to schedule your monthly appointments ahead of time! Make an appointment for a ultra-hydrating facial such as the HydraFacial MD, or even a relaxing Oxygen Facial with your Esthetician. Before and After photos are a great way to track your progress and be sure to follow up with your skincare specialist days following your service.
~ It is imperative to come in for Pre-Wedding Skincare treatments every 4-6 weeks to promote healthy cell turnover. Each service at SKIN is custom-tailored to get you the results you’re looking for!
~ Consult to see if you need Back Treatments! Remember, if you’re wearing a backless or strapless dress you should think about having your Esthetician look at that area of your body to see if any extractions or treatments should be a part of your bridal plan.
~ Home care is going to be key in seeing results – you can’t expect your skin to stay beautiful without doing a little homework yourself! Ask about which products will make the most difference in your skin, and be confident that you know how to use the products you buy!
~ If you’re interested in peels or resurfacing, make sure you talk to your Aesthetic Provider about what downtime to expect, if any. Allow time for healing before you walk down the isle!
~ Hair Removal: See our experienced esthetician Danielle at SKIN in Hillcrest for all your waxing or intimate brightening needs.
~ Kiss your razor good-bye and get on a monthly waxing rotation. Your hair grows in three cycles, it may take between 3-4 wax sessions to get all the hair on the same growth pattern. Consult with Danielle at SKIN for more information. Receive a special Bridal Boot Camp price!
One month before wedding:
~ Grab your spa-bestie and come in for a full day of pampering. This will be the last time before you become a MRS. that you’ll want any peels or heavy extractions. From here on out, its all about hydration and protection!
~ Add in a back treatment or body scrub to get your skin below the chin ready to look its bridal best.
Two weeks before wedding:
~ Ask for a super hydrating face treatment (Don’t get any crazy peels or extractions) just focus on plumping, protecting and reducing fine lines. Rejuvenate those lips with a nice lip mask and just watch the glow begin!
One week before the big day:
~Now is a good time to think about your hands! Ask about a soothing hand treatment to rid your knuckles of any dry patches to be sure all eyes are on your beautiful ring, not your rough hands!
~ Last pre-wedding wax!
Night before the wedding:
~ If you are staying in a hotel (or even at home) cover up those horrible magnifying mirrors. (You know, the one with the bright light that allows you to see EVERYTHING!) Brides tend to get nervous, thus causing them to pick the night before. Friends don’t let friends pick their face.
~ If you notice a blemish, cleanse your hands and face then massage an ice cube over the area. Put on your finishing products and then hold a cold compress for 10 minutes. This should calm the area to minimize any bump.~ DO NOT PICK OR TWEEZE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!
~ Try a hydrating, water-based masque for added glow and radiance.
